Got thoughts on the budget? Make your voice heard, TONIGHT!

This post is a copy of outreach from our councilor, Candi CdeBaca.

Hello, District 9!

This is just a quick note encouraging you to sign up for tonight's required public hearing on the 2023 budget during tonight's City Council meeting. It's backwards, I know—you'd think public input should actually INFORM our city's budget on the front end, rather than coming after the final draft has already been submitted. But this is the process we have right now, and it's important to take the opportunity to make your voice heard on how YOU think the city is stewarding YOUR tax dollars. So here's how to take part in the public hearing:

  • Sign up to speak online HERE between 3 and 5:30 PM today.

  • You can speak in-person in Council Chambers (Rm. 450 in the City and County Building) or via Zoom.

  • Everyone will get 3 minutes to speak, and because this is a required public hearing, there is no cap on the number of speakers. Everyone who signs up will get to speak!

  • You can find full details on speaking at City Council's public hearings HERE.

  • Not able to speak tonight? You can submit your written comments to dencc@denvergov.org before 3 PM today.

  • City Council's final vote on the budget will be at our Monday, November 14, weekly meeting.

And now, please see below for other ways that YOU can get involved. Click through below for more information on:

We need YOU—your energy and your involvement—so that we can build a city that prioritizes the health and safety of all of our people and communities. So take action and keep showing up in any way you can! I appreciate you! In solidarity,
